Get Involved!

Want to help make a difference in Phoenixville? We’re always looking for people who care about improving the lives of those in our community!

There are two ways to get involved: volunteer or join our board of directors.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteers can join one of several committees that help the board with different parts of the Foundation. Volunteers play a big role in discussions and decisions at the committee level. Topics might include diversity, equity, and inclusion, finance, human resources, board education, and more.

Volunteers serve for two years but can extend their time for up to two additional one-year terms. The time commitment is pretty flexible. If you join a committee that meets every other month, you’ll spend about 1-2 hours on those meeting days.

Eligibility

You don’t need to be an expert, but it helps if you have an interest in health and human services, nonprofits, or philanthropy.

If you’re interested, reach out to our CEO Tamela Luce to set up a time to chat and learn more.

Become a Board Member

If you’re looking to commit more time, joining our board could be a good option. The board helps set the direction for the Foundation, ensures our financial stability, and oversees our grants to make sure they align with our mission and goals. Board members attend meetings, join committees, offer advice, and connect with grantees.

The amount of time you put into board membership is up to you, but most members spend about 1-3 hours a month preparing for meetings, attending them, and doing any follow-up work. Some might spend more time, depending on what they’re involved in.

Eligibility

For board members, we’re ideally looking for people who live or work in the Phoenixville area and are passionate about our mission. It’s a plus if you can bring specific skills or connections, like financial expertise, nonprofit experience, or links to certain industries or communities.

Process

If you’re interested, reach out to our CEO Tamela Luce to set up a chat. You may also meet a few of the Foundation’s current board members, too.

While not required, we strongly recommend potential board members volunteer on a committee before joining the board.
