In 2024, we awarded a total of $1,545,000 to 46 organizations assisting residents of the greater Phoenixville area. We are grateful to continue to support the health and wellbeing of the Phoenixville region for more than 25 years.
Our Foundation awards grants in September to health and human service organizations that meet our eligibility criteria and address one or more of our strategic goals. The total amount awarded shifts each year based on the value of our investment portfolio.
In 2024, we awarded a total of $1,545,000 to 46 organizations assisting residents of the greater Phoenixville area. These organizations provide a wide range of services including healthcare and mental health counseling and supports; housing, food, and emergency assistance; childcare, education, and youth enrichment programs; violence prevention and services for victims of violence; and more. Our grantees serve all ages from small children to seniors, immigrant communities and non-English speakers, the LGBTQ+ community, folks with disabilities, people living unhoused, and others traditionally considered marginalized.

2024 Annual Cycle Grantees
Alianzas de Phoenixville
$50,000 for general operations. Alianzas strives for equity and the dignity of diverse communities regardless of their country of origin by providing services to the under-resourced and by promoting intercultural exchanges to connect all individuals in the broader community.
Ann’s Heart
$70,000 for general operations. Ann’s Heart provides a place of welcome and human services to all Phoenixville area people. The organization operates Phoenixville’s Code Blue Overnight Emergency Warming Center, CERAH (Center for Emergency Resources at Ann’s Heart) and the HEART (the Home of Education, Arts, Resources & Technology) community center, among other programs.
Barnstone Art for Kids
$12,500 for general operations. Barnstone Art for Kids uses the power of art and community connection to foster resilience in children facing adversity.
Better Days Ahead
$20,000 for general operations in the Phoenixville area. This grassroots nonprofit group distributes food, clothing, and survival gear directly to area houseless and at-risk individuals in Phoenixville, Pottstown, Norristown, Spring City, Royersford, as well as Center City and Kensington in Philadelphia. Helping people is their passion and they are dedicated to treating all clients with the dignity and humanity they deserve.
Bridge of Hope Chester County
$7,000 for general operations. The Bridge of Hope network and partners embrace these values as they engage in ending homelessness for families, who are primarily comprised of single mothers and their children.
Chester County Futures
$7,500 to support their education enrichment programs in the Phoenixville area. Chester County Futures provides comprehensive academic support, mentoring and scholarships for motivated economically disadvantaged youth to succeed in school, higher education, and life.
Citizen Advocacy of Chester County
$10,000 for general operations. Citizen Advocacy’s mission is to initiate and support a variety of intentional relationships that provide advocacy for opportunity, protection from harm, sponsorship into community life, friendship, and justice for isolated people living with a disability. Citizen Advocacy is built upon the belief in the power and competence of the ordinary citizen to care for and connect to others and to make a lifelong commitment to stand by, stand for and stand with another person, through good times and through challenging ones.
Crescendo Phoenixville
$5,000 for general operations. Crescendo Phoenixville is a community music organization that provides high quality music education to children who might otherwise not receive it.
Daemion Counseling Center
$13,000 for general operations. Daemion Counseling Center offers professional mental health counseling focused on helping community residents navigate life’s many transitions by providing expert yet affordable care.
Domestic Violence Center of Chester County
$30,000 for their Phoenixville Area Outreach Office. The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County provides intervention, education, outreach, advocacy, and programs to prevent, reduce, and remedy domestic violence in Chester County.
Family Service of Chester County
$15,000 for general operations for counseling and specialized support programs. Family Services of Chester County provides life-changing individual and family support by removing barriers and providing access to counseling, case management, youth services, and family programs.
Good Samaritan Services
$25,000 for their residential housing in Phoenixville. Good Samaritan Services compassionately responds to homelessness and poverty across Lancaster and Chester Counties. Recognizing that the cause of homelessness and poverty has a unique root in the lives of each person they serve, Good Sam seeks to make its approach to helping just as unique and personalized for each person moving on a journey from crisis to stability.
Good Works
$25,000 to support their work in the Phoenixville area. They are dedicated to repairing homes and restoring hope for low-income homeowners in Chester County, PA.
Health Care Access
$350,000 for general operations. Health Care Access’ mission is to improve the health and quality of life in the greater Phoenixville area by helping the uninsured and underinsured overcome financial and cultural barriers in obtaining specialized health care.
Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy
$5,000 for general operations. The mission of Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy is to enhance the quality of life of individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional, or behavioral disabilities by providing them with affordable therapeutic horseback riding and associated special education of the highest possible quality, in a warm, safe, and familiar environment.
Kate’s Casa, Inc.
$10,000 for general operations. The world is full of war, hate, and poverty, but also peace, love, and wealth. Kate’s Casa was created to make these worlds collide. This organization works with ESL families and children of the Phoenixville Area School district by collecting and distributing baskets for children seasonally throughout the year.
Laurel House
$10,000 for general operations. Laurel House is dedicated to the vision of ending domestic violence in each life, home, and community. It is a comprehensive domestic violence agency serving individuals, families, and communities throughout Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania
$10,000 for legal services to support housing stability. Their mission is to provide quality legal representation to low-income and vulnerable people in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties, to empower them to solve problems without legal representation through legal education and increased access to the courts, and to change community practices and systems that cause or aggravate poverty.
LGBT Equality Alliance
$9,000 to continue and expand operations. The LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County fosters inclusivity, wellbeing, and social justice for the LGBTQ+ community through advocacy and provision of safe, supportive spaces.
Maternal and Child Health Consortium
$30,000 for their Healthy Start and Family Benefits Programs. Maternal and Child Health Consortium empowers families to build a healthier and brighter future for their children by overcoming the social and environmental barriers that lead to poor health conditions in our communities.
Meals on Wheels of Chester County
$6,000 to support Meals on Wheels in the Phoenixville area. Meals on Wheels of Chester County provides nutritious meals and personal interaction to homebound adults to help them live independently in their own homes.
Mitzvah Circle Foundation
$15,000 for support of critical needs for healthy families, a diaper bank, and period supply programs in the Phoenixville area. Mitzvah Circle Foundation meets the critical, material needs of people struggling with crisis, poverty, serious illness, and homelessness.
Mom’s House
$20,000 for general operations. Mom’s House provides a unique family support system, including free state-licensed childcare, for low income, single parents while they are pursuing their full-time education and becoming independent members of society.
Open Door Ministry
$15,000 for general operations. Open Door’s mission is to be an open door, a nurturing, faith-based organization that welcomes those in need and offers community-based programs, including a food pantry, a thrift shop and volunteer opportunities. Open Door brings people together within the community and provides support, compassion, and understanding.
Open Hearth
$35,000 for general operations. Open Hearth provides innovative programs to support and empower people to end the cycle of homelessness, acquire affordable housing, a means of transportation, workforce opportunities, and achieve financial stability.
Orion Communities
$65,000 for general operations. Orion assists neighbors in the greater Phoenixville area who find themselves in financial distress, homeless, or facing difficult life challenges. Orion offers hope for individuals and families experiencing hardship due to poverty, disability, or illness by building bridges that lead to self-reliance while working towards social justice for all.
Phoenixville Area Children’s Learning Center
$50,000 for general operations. The Phoenixville Area Children’s Learning Center provides a quality childcare program in an environment of love and learning to the children of the greater Phoenixville area.
Phoenixville Area Community Services
$75,000 for general operations. Since 1972, PACS has been dedicated to helping people get through difficult or challenging periods in their lives. Emergency assistance is provided through food distribution and information and referral services that help get our clients back on their feet. PACS aspires to be the lead resource for food insecurity in the community.
Phoenixville Area Police Athletic League
$7,500 for general operations. PAL’s mission is to advance the well-being of youth in Phoenixville and surrounding area through participation in individual and team sports and educational activities while teaching life values and community service. The goal of PAL’s programs is to address the root causes of a variety of unhealthy behaviors, including crime, drug and alcohol abuse, poor decision making, and lack of nutrition and/or exercise.
Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA)
$20,000 for general operations. PAPA supports the youth of Phoenixville in becoming successful and productive adults through programs that have a positive impact on self-esteem and life skills development.
Phoenixville Area Senior Center
$60,000 for general operations. The Phoenixville Senior Center offers comprehensive activities and resources for older adults that champion holistic aging and foster a vibrant well rounded life journey.
Phoenixville Communities that Care
$10,000 for general operations. Phoenixville Area CTC is a collaborative effort involving individuals and organizations who are committed to building the community’s capability to meet the needs of our children and their families so that our children will adopt safe and healthy behaviors and be successful at home, in school, and in the larger community.
Phoenixville Free Clinic (formerly The Clinic)
$275,000 for general operations. The Phoenixville Free Clinic provides quality healthcare to the uninsured and underserved with dignity and respect.
Phoenixville Women’s Outreach
$20,000 for general operations. Phoenixville Women’s Outreach empowers women to self-sufficiency, stability, and independence by providing a comprehensive transitional housing program, affordable housing, supportive services, advocacy, and education.
Project Healing Hive
$7,500 for general operations. Project Healing Hive is a grassroots organization founded in 2019. Its mission is to improve access to evidence-based CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) for overall health and mental wellness through research and development, advocacy, and community-based services.
Project Libertad
$12,500 for general operations. Project Libertad empowers newcomer immigrant youth and their families by providing essential, youth-led, and youth-centered legal and social services.
Phoenixville Public Library
$20,000 for general operations. The Phoenixville Public Library provides access to information and services that address the educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community the library serves.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul

$10,000 for general operations. This organization helps with emergency one-time financial support for past due rents, rental deposits, energy bills, and heating oil support.
Spring City Public Free Library
$5,000 for new furniture and expand children’s book collection. The Spring City Free Public Library provides access to information that reflects the needs of all the local communities, focusing on current topics and titles and supporting lifelong learning, and contributing to a better quality of life. Its overarching vision that guides all that it does is to promote a “prosperous, culturally rich community.”
Spring-Ford Counseling Services
$15,000 for general operations. Spring-Ford Counseling Services offers therapeutic, professional, and educational services to all people requesting assistance in the areas of mental health and substance abuse in the most ethical and confidential manner possible.
TCN
$15,000 to support capacity building for Phoenixville nonprofits. Their mission is to promote real collaboration to achieve community development. As a collaborative organization comprised of local nonprofits, businesses, and civic groups, TCN builds partnerships to support local community needs and provides resources designed to address issues that cannot be solved by a single organization.
The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County
$20,000 for general operations. The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County provides free, immediate, and confidential crisis response and compassionate support to children and adults impacted by sexual violence and all other crimes. They provide assistance through counseling, advocacy, resources, and education. They foster community awareness and understanding through our comprehensive outreach and prevention programs.
Trellis for Tomorrow
$10,000 for general operations. Trellis for Tomorrow provides highly impactful programming at the intersection of food justice, youth workforce readiness, and environmental sustainability. Trellis provides extensive community-based garden programming which grows, harvests, and donates over 30,000 pounds of produce annually across the region’s five counties. Additionally, Trellis delivers hands-on, experiential programs for historically underrepresented youth utilizing community-based gardens as living classrooms, while fostering participants’ own inherent compassion and resilience.
Variety – The Children’s Charity
$5,000 for general operations. Variety – The Children’s Charity helps children and young adults with disabilities throughout the Delaware Valley. Since 1935, Variety has continued its mission to enrich the lives of children and young adults with disabilities through social, educational, and vocational programs that nurture independence and self-confidence, and prepare them for life.
VNA Community Services
$20,000 for the Personal Navigator Program. The mission of VNA is to support the integrity and independence of vulnerable individuals and families in the community. The Personal Navigator Program is a benefits access program committed to helping connect individuals and families to benefits that improve health, increase food security and economic stability through program eligibility determination, application assistance and utilization support.
Volunteer English Program
$25,000 for general operations. The Volunteer English Program connects volunteers with adult English language learners to provide one-to-one tutoring and cultural enrichment that empowers immigrants to be successful.
Women’s Resource Center
$5,000 for the Girls Lead program at Phoenixville Area Middle School. The Women’s Resource Center assists women and girls to successfully navigate life transitions and inspire others to do the same. Girls Lead is a leadership and protective life skills program aimed at helping middle and high school girls with untapped leadership potential find their footing and thrive.
