PCHF is shocked and saddened by the violent abduction of two community members by federal immigration agents yesterday. Phoenixville has always been a place of welcome, a safe harbor for people from all places and walks of life to make a home and community.
Events like these place undue, continuous fear and trauma on our friends and neighbors. As an organization dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of all PXV residents, we wholeheartedly support our network of community partners working to mitigate the damage done and assist those impacted.
In full transparency, we don’t know what to do or how best to respond in these turbulent times. We can’t promise that we’ll have all the answers.
What we do promise, however, is an unwavering commitment to walk alongside our partners and neighbors who bear the weight of these violent actions, and to work in fellowship to take care of and uplift everyone who calls this community home.
The future may look uncertain, and the weeks and months ahead may be hard. But we will get through this the same way we always have: by coming together, supporting one another, and lifting up this amazing community. We need you. This community needs you. We must remember to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others. We are Phoenixville, and like the legendary bird we were named after, we will rise.
